BRABSON, EUGENE - went to be with the Lord, February 14, 2004 at Hillcrest South Nursing Home. Born March 13, 1923. Member of Bentley Street Christian Church, where he served faithfully as a member and during his waning years as Deacon Emeritus. He served his country with honor during W.W.II in the South Pacific. Eugene was the youngest of four boys and two girls born to Abe and Ruthie Brabson in Sevierville, TN. Preceded in death by: mother and father brothers, Kenneth, Paul and J. B. Brabson sisters, Mollie and Myrtle niece, Ruth Boyd wives, Ruby Brabson and his second wife of many years, Naomi Wombl.
Survivors nephews, Robert Boyd and Marshall (Man) Shuber niece-in-law of 42 years, Stephanie Boyd nieces, Nadine Brabson, Springfield, Mass, Irish Jean Brabson and Excina Cates, Knoxville, TN grandnephews, David Boyd, Knoxville, TN, Robert Boyd III, Conyers, GA, Paul Ken Boyd, Lake Worth, FL and Malcolm Boyd, Atlanta, GA grandniece, Victoria Harris, Springfield, Mass four great grandnephews one great grandniece and Naomi Womble's children, who called him "Daddy Gene" a host of relatives and friends. Family will receive friends, 12:30-1:00 p.m., Thursday at Jarnigan's Chapel, funeral service, 1:00 p.m., Rev. Arzolla Cooke, officiating. Interment Knoxville National Cemetery (off Broadwayl Ave.)
