BRABSON, MOLLIE - of Knoxville, departed this life and went to be with her Lord, on Saturday, February 23, 2002, at the Hillcrest South Nursing Home, where she had been since 1999. She was born on July 26, 1912, in Sevier County, Tenn. While at Hillcrest, she was received in Fellowship and Spiritually comforted by Rev. Arzolla Cooke, Pastor of the Bentley Street Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Robinson; her mother and father, Abe and Ruthie Brabson; three brothers, Kenneth Brabson, Paul Brabson, and J. B. Brabson; her only sister, Myrtle Brabson Boyd, and a niece, Ruth Boyd Harris. She is survived by her loving and devoted brother, Eugene Brabson. Although Aunt Mollie, as she was affectionately known, never had any children of her own, she helped raise two nephews, Robert E. Boyd and Marshall (Man) Suber of Knoxville; she has a niece, Iris Jean Brabson of Knoxville; four grandnephews, David Boyd of Oak Ridge, Bobby Boyd of Atlanta, Paul Ken Boyd of Lake Worth, Fla., and Malcolm Boyd of Hempstead, N.Y., and two grand nieces, Victoria Boyd Harris and Nadine Brabson of Springfield, Mass., and a grand niece-in-law, Kathleen Boyd of Oak Ridge. She has four great-grand nephews, Christopher Boyd, Jason Boyd, Brandon Boyd, and Adrian Boyd, and one great-grand niece, Maleah Body; a special friend of the family, Niecey Cates, and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at Jarnigan and Son Mortuary, on Martin Luther King Ave., from 12:30 until 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral services in the Jarnigan Chapel at 1:00 p.m. She will be buried near her mother and father, and sister and brothers at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Sevierville, Tenn. Jarnigan and Son Mortuary, in charge.
