She was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Whitaker; parents, Robert and Ellen Hubbard; and brothers, Pete, Ed, Roy, Ray, and Joe Hubbard. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Tony Jenkins and Paulette and Byong Lim; grandchildren and spouses, Chris and Christie Jenkins, Mike Jenkins, Heather Jenkins, Jonathan and Nicole Lim, and Sonya Lim; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Roberts and Hazel Goode; brothers, Harold, Carl, and W. M. Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service was held 2:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Grandview Cemetery, Rev. Tyson McKeehan officiated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Association of East Tennessee (2200 Sutherland Avenue, Suite H102, Knoxville, TN 37919) or Blount Memorial Hospice (1095 East Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37804).
