Dail, Martin Luther “Buddy” – age 69 of Knoxville, formerly of Strawberry Plains, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at his home. He was an Elder at Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church, graduate of Carson Newman, received a Masters degree in Education Administration from the University of TN. He was an educator having started his career in Grainger County as principal at Washburn High School and later at Rutledge High School. He was principal at Rush Strong Elementary School for 20 years. Also, he was Director of JTPA of Jefferson County when he retired. Preceded in death by W.G. and Jewell Dail; and his first wife, Beulah Walker Dail. He was a loving husband, father, and grandbuddy. Survivors include wife, Maxine Lauderdale Dail; sons, Eric Dail and wife Paula, and Scott Cook; daughters, Stacey Crouse and husband Dennis, Kim Cook Thomas and husband Mark, and Amy Cook Boling and husband Scott; brother, Dr. William Dail and wife Cecilia; nephew, Bryan Dail and wife Heidi; grandchildren, Kasey Cole and husband Michael, Carrie Bull and husband Shane, Nicholas and Andrew Cook, Mariah Crouse, Noah and Katelyn Boling; great grandchildren, Hailey, Amy and Bryson Cole, and Harper Bull; and several beloved relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 7:00 PM Friday, February 13, 2009, in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Maxey officiating. Friends and family will meet at 10:45 AM Saturday at Eastview Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM entombment. Memorials may be made in his memory to the General Building Fund at Strawberry Plains Presbyterian Church, 3168 W. Old Andrew Johnson Highway, Strawberry Plains, TN 37871. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Friday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999.
