(Chestnut Hill Community) went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, February 1, 2018. She was a faithful, loving, and devoted wife, mother, and “Granny”. Always putting her faith first, she was a devout Christian and lived her life for Jesus Christ. She was born on September 5, 1919 to the late James Carroll and Emma Norris Dockery. She was preceded in death by her husband, GL Layman; grandson, Chad Layman; great granddaughter, Tiffany Hodge; 1 great grandson, Garrett Lee Layman; 1 sister, Mattie Batson and 6 brothers, Charles, Cicero, O’Dell, Richard, Luther, and Austin Dockery. She is survived by 2 sons, Dennis Layman (Sue), Cecil Layman (Sandy), 3 daughters, Wanda Hughes (Johnny), Doris Barnes, and Shirley Foster; grandchildren, Rhonda Hodge (Randy), Travis France (Amy), Tina Mount (Kevin), Marty Layman (Holly), Stacy Cutshaw (Maria), Jason Layman (Brandi), Robin Hughes, Craig Layman (Neisha); great grandchildren, Dustin Mount, Dereck France, Zach France, Mason Hodge, Seth Cutshaw, Ryan Cutshaw, Wallace Layman, McKenna Layman, Olivia Layman, Taylor Layman, Emma Layman, Caiden Layman and Mabry Layman. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Burchfield Memorial United Methodist Church. Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 4, 2018 immediately following the receiving of friends with Rev. Bill Cheetham and Rev. John Clark officiating. Interment will follow the 3:00 P.M. service in Burchfield Memorial Cemetery.
