MYNATT, CARL PHILLIP - age 89 of Knoxville, passed away 9:14 a.m. August 21, 2003 at St. Mary's Residential Hospice. Carl retired 27 years ago from Merita Bakery as a supervisor. He and Irene enjoyed their retirement time in their mountain cabin (built by all the family), sharing good times of laughter, tears, and above all love. He was a lifetime resident of Halls and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Preceded in death by son, Carl Phillip Mynatt, Jr. in 1954 daughter, Ellen Harriet Bright in 1975 and grandson, Christopher Sharp. He was the son of the late, Chas. and Harriet Mynatt. Survivors: devoted and loving wife of 70 years, Irene (Warwick) Mynatt children, Helen and husband, Pete McConkey, Ann and late husband, James Speegle, Robert and late wife, Tavie Mynatt, Paul and Joan Mynatt all of Knoxville and Janie and husband, David Downey of South Lyon, Mich. grandchildren, Cindy Thomas, Sonai Hylton, Karen and husband, Scott Quamman, Patricia and husband, Allen Stansbury, Mike and wife, Janet McConkey, Sandra and husband, Gary Monroe, Lisa and husband, Randy Hutchens, Teresa and husband, John Gregory, Jamie and husband, Eric Nielson, James and wife, Cara Speegle, Doug and wife, Tracey Mynatt all of Knoxville, Cristina and husband, Craig Clary of Plano, TX, James David and wife, Amy Downey of Ypsilanti, Mich., along with 24 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Family and friends will meet at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery 2 p.m. Sunday for the interment service. Pallbearers: Mike McConkey, Doug Mynatt, James Speegle, James David Downey, Gary Monroe, John Gregory, Craig Clary and Eric Nielson. Honorary pallbearers: Randy Hutchens, Scott Quamman and Allen Stansbury. Arrangements by Mynatt Funeral Home.
