Roy Scott Ball, 80, passed away Wednesday evening at his home in Waterville following an apparent heart attack.
He was a member of the Brown Missionary Baptist Church.
Scott was a veteran of WWII.
He had worked for the Carolina Power and Light Co. for 29 years before his retirement in 1980.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jewell Ball.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Messer Ball of Waterville; children, Glenn Ball of Waterville and Dean Ball and his wife, Pat, of White Pine; sisters, Bethonia Smith and Goldia McGaha, both of Millville, New Jersey, and Belva Carver of Newport; brothers, Junior Ball of Newport and Dan Ball of Hartford; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fred Cagle and Rev. Lynn Hartsell ofÞciating. Interment in the White Cemetery on Mt. Sterling.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday evening at the Brown Funeral Home.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
