Smith, Rosa –age 72 of South Knoxville, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011. She was of the Baptist faith and retired from St. Mary's Hospital with over 30 years of service. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Rosa Johnson; husband, Alvin Smith; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter, Rose Barnard; grandchildren, Andrea Barnard, Steve and wife, Sandra Barnard; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and wives, Theodore and Hilda Johnson, Joe and Brenda Johnson; sister, Elizabeth Fritts; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Brother Rusty Sharpe officiating.
