Billy Joe Renner, 61, of Mosheim, (Glenwood Community), died late Wednesday evening at Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsport.
He retired in 1985 from American Enka after 27 years of service. He was also a farmer.
He was a long-time member of Jackson’s Chapel F.W.B. Church, where he served as deacon.
He was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather and neighbor by family and friends.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was the son of the late Robert and Cecil Davis Renner and was preceded in death by two infant sisters.
Survivors: wife of 38 years, Naoma Knight Renner; one daughter, Deedie Renner of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Patsy Renner of Greeneville; two granddaughters, Kassie Marie Pitts and Tracie Renee Renner; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charlie and Laura Renner of Greeneville and Fred and Madge Renner of Del Rio; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Ora Mae Hensley of Knoxville, Leoda and Sylvester McCoy of Greeneville, Mary Gammon of Greeneville, and Shirley Brooks of Parrottsville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buford and Noletta Knight of Greeneville and Charles and Christine Knight of Mosheim; mother-in-law, Katherine Knight of Midway; aunt, Mettie Lafollette of Parrottsville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and
great-nephews.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Jackson’s Chapel F.W.B. Church, with Rev. Van Johnson, Rev. Donnie Bible and Rev. Paul Ragon officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Fowler Combs, Bart Morrell, John R. Davis, Avery Kirk, Eddie Hartman, Mack Mitchell, Anthony Knight, and Donald Ray Inscore. Honorary pallbearers: Men of Jackson’s Chapel F.W.B. Church.
The body will remain at Kiser Funeral Home until time to be taken to the church thirty min
utes preceding the services.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Kiser
Funeral Home.
