(June 1, 1943 - February 18, 2014) Dennis Randy Gregg, age 70 of Newport, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at his home. He was an active member of Northport Baptist Church. He worked with R.A. Program and was the sound technician for several years. He was an active member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge #234 F & AM. He was a member of the Knoxville Scottish Rites Bodies, where he received the honored 33rd Degree. He enjoyed being a Shrine clown with the Kerbela Shrine Temple making children and people laugh. He was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Gregg; mother and step-father, Marie and Jack Holt; sister, Lagretta Ann Gregg. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Gregg of Newport; sons, Barry Gregg of Parrottsville and Shannon (Heather)Gregg of Memphis; daughters, Misty (Phil) Carriger of Jonesboro, Alissia (Don) Taylor of Asheville, and Melissa (James) Murphy of Sevierville; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madison, Sean, Aaron, Sydney, Graham, Dylan, and Nathan; Great-grandchild, Brayden; sisters, Judy Smith (Tom Perski) of Newport and Diana Foder of Rockford; countless nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Ball and Rev. Kris Brady officiating. Masonic Rites will be held at 7:45 pm. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:45 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
