Faye Moore Mathis, age 81, passed away at her home in Hartford, Monday, April 9, 2007 after a lengthy illness. She was of the Baptist faith. She retired from American Enka-BASF.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, John Lewis and Callote (Leatherwood) Moore; brothers and sisters, Manney, Clay, Charlie, Ray, and Ken Moore, and Maxine Carver.
She is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Tunney and Alice Moore; daughters, Deane Mathis Galbreath of the home; daughter and son in law, Joann and Edward Rhodes of Dandridge; daughter, Valerie Williams Elmer of New Jersey; granddaughters, Trisha and Eric Ellison, Melina and Tim Strange of Newport, Sonya Shirley, April and Jason Shirley, of Oneonta, Ala.; great grandchildren, Emily Ellison of Newport, Tyler Shirley and Makenna Shirley, Ala.; sisters-in-law, Betty, Moore, Vera Moore and Betty King. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who she loves dearly.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Manes Funeral Home West Chapel. The funeral will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 12, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Ransom Hall and Reverend Mike Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in the Moore Cemetery in Grassy Fork.
Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Moore, Charles Lewis Moore, Mike Moore, Shannon Moore and Tim Strange; honorary pallbearers will be, David Jarningan, Nease Leatherwood, and Elmer Leatherwood.
