U.S. Veteran John Robert “J.R.” Kinser, age 93, of Parrottsville, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015. He was a World War II Veteran, served on the Board of Farm Bureau, an organizer of the Parrottsville Ruritan Club, and was on the Rural Medical Board. He Retired from the United States Postal Service and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Lula Mae Kinser; brother, Rev. William E. Kinser. He is survived by his wife, Melba Joyce Eisenhower Kinser of Parrottsville; son, Terry (Janey) Kinser of White Pine; daughter, Donna Jones of White Pine; brother, Ted (Ruth) Kinser of Greeneville sister, Eva Mae Gaddis of Parrottsville; sister-in-law, Ernestine Kinser of Virginia; grandchildren, Summer Kinser of Knoxville, John (Ponnie) Jones, and Brad Jones all of White Pine; great-grandchildren, Haley Jones and Sarah Grace Jones both of White Pine; special caretakers, Ruth Ann Ramsey, Donna Shelton, and Amanda Hurley; several other nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Pat McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Manes Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
