U.S. Veteran Jon P. Williams, age 23, of Newport, passed away, Monday, September 11, 2006 at his home. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Hollis Fred Phillips; great grandmothers, Swannie Hall, Georgie Fox, Flora Gray; and cousin, Nikki Mathis. Jon is survived by his mother and step dad, Kim and Danny Worex; father, Patrick B. Williams; grandparents, Betty Phillips, Dorothy and Tip Williams; brother, Daniel Worex; sisters, Jessica Williams and Tammy Worex; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Danny Cox, Judine and Kenny Oakley, Kay James, Patricia and Bill Gunter, Dorothy and Gary Kyker, Michelle and Sammy Denton, Tip and Janet Williams; nieces and nephews, Carisssa Phillips, Judd Clevenger, Makayla and Selena Morales; cousins, Sammi Jo Denton, Coni and Ashley Morales, Brittany and Jared Cox, Sam, Katie and Shawna Oakley, Bart and Shelly Kyker, Mandy Williamson, Misty Barnes, Jennifer Parks and Danny Spurgeon; special friends, Vaneka “Mimi” White, Justin Williams, Chase Simpson, Gabriel “Goob” Marra and Jason Green. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, September, 14, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Doug Messer and Pastor Wayne Waycaster officiating, with burial in Stokely Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Manes Funeral Home for the funeral expenses.
