(February 24, 1931 - October 17, 2006) James Alfred “Yank” Weeks, Sr 75 of Cosby went to be with his lord Tuesday, October 17, 2006. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Brown’s Chapel Church. Jim was preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Reds” Weeks, mother and step father, Jean and Arnold Castle, sister, Tootie Townsend, sister and brother in law, Dorothy and Bobby Miller, son, David Edward Weeks, Sr and grandson, David Edward Weeks, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Polly Weeks who blessed him with twelve children, sons, Jimmy Weeks and wife Naomi, William “Bucky” Weeks, Steven Weeks and wife Tresha all of Cosby, Jeff Weeks and wife Sherri, Johnny Weeks and wife Teresa of Newport, Ronnie Weeks and wife Cassie, Max Weeks and wife Laura, daughters, Mary Weeks, Katie Frazier, Paula Adams and husband Glen and Shirley Fodness and a special grandson, Brandon Denton all of Cosby. He will be missed by 31 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Garvers Chapel Church with the Rev. Fred Cagle and Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Interment will be in the Weeks Family Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-9 P.M. Thursday and Friday at the funeral home. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
