Mr. David Edward Weeks, age 29 of Newport, passed away Sunday morning September 3, 2006 at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He was a member of Garver’s Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Weeks was preceded in death by his father, David Weeks Sr.; and grandparents, John and Queenie Grooms. He is survived by his sons, Dereck Weeks of Cosby, Damien and Kaden Weeks of Parrottsville and Dillan Weeks of Newport; daughter, Kayla Shea Cutshaw of Parrottsville; mother, Robin Grooms of Parrottsville; grandparents, Jim and Polly Weeks of Cosby; brothers, Jimmy John Weeks of Cosby, Jerry Weeks of Newport, and Timothy O’Reily of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Selena Weeks of Knoxville and Chelsea Weeks of Cosby; niece and nephews, Whisper Weeks, Anthony and Jacob Weeks, and John Speagle; mothers of his children, Frances Dalton Weeks of Cosby, Misty Cutshaw Weeks of Parrottsville, and Monica Busler of Newport; God brothers, Eric Lovin, Derek Grooms, Josh Barnes, Shane Swann, Chad Styles, Robert Loudemback, Brandon Miller, Ike Ford, Jamie McDaniels, and Brandon Phillips, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Jenkins officiating. Interment will be held in Weeks Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to help with final arrangements.
