Morris, Lois Hayes (Rogers), age 80, of Knoxville, died on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 at Baptist Hospital. She was born August 23, 1922 in Knoxville. During World War II she worked as a secretary on the Manhattan Project at Oak Ridge. She later was employed by the Knox County School system. She was a long time member of Meridian Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Alice Hayes.
Survivors
Devoted and loving husband, Glenn H. Morris; daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Chick McGeehan, Jeanne and David White, Wanda and Martin Hartley, and Judy Coile; sons and daughters-in-law: Wayne and Joyce Baker, Ed and Connie Morris, Clyde and Gwyn Baker, and Gary and Lisa Morris; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sue Hayes; sister and brother-in-law, Nadine and John Rogers; 23 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 nephews; 1 niece; and special friends at Holston Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Service
Funeral services will be held Friday at 8:00 p.m. at Meridian Baptist Church, with Rev. Dana Fachman officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Meridian Cemetery for interment services. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Lottie Moon Christmas offering at Meridian Baptist Church, 6513 Chapman Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Meridian Baptist Church. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
