Helen L. Bray, "Granny," 68, of Iron River, Mich., and Lake Wales, Fla., died unexpectedly Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette, Mich. She was born Dec. 6, 1939, in Sevierville, the daughter of the late Earl and Iva (Ownby) Franklin. On Sept. 3, 1961, Helen married Charles Bray in Iron River. Helen is survived by her husband, Chuck; son, Thom (Beth) Bray, Amherst; two daughters, Belinda (Bob) Schaber, Milwaukee, and Dawn (Scott) Broderick, Waupaca; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Ann and Betty; brothers and sisters-in-law; Thomas (JoAnn) Bray, Dennis Bray, Bonnie Bray and Jan Harper, all of Iron River; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Jungers-Holly Funeral Home, 262 S. Main St., Amherst, WI, (715) 824-3221. Pastor Dan Herod will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday. A memorial fund has been established for Marquette General Hospital Beacon House.
