Hazel M. Hughes, 89, of Corryton passed peacefully at her daughter’s home on Saturday, August 2, 2014 to join her husband and son in Heaven.
Ms. Hughes loved her Sunday school class at Corryton Baptist Church and was active in her church family and community. She continued to be a valued member of her community until her death and was a member of several charitable organizations, including her time as a Nogganeer, a group at St. Mary’s Hospital that handmade caps for newborn babies born in the hospital. She was also a member and one-time President of the Corryton Senior Citizens group. Hughes loved helping people and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.
