He was a member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church and retired from the U.S. Navy as Chief Boatswain Mate serving during Viet Nam and the Iran Conflict on the USS NIMITZ CVN 68. Preceded in death by father, J. Chattman Easterday sister, Willayne Towe brother, Lawrence C. Easterday. Survived by mother, Marie U. Easterday sons & daughters-in-law, Charles Jr. of Orange City, Fl., Chadd & Julie of McKenny, Tx., Todd & Lori of Corryton, Tn., and Chattman Easterday of Athens, Tn. daughter, Kristie Gail Easterday of Sandston, Va. grandchildren, Emily and Ashlynn Easterday of Corryton brother, Jerry Easterday of Knoxville sisters & brothers-in-law, Jewell Slover of Logansville, Ga., Dorothy Lee, Frances & Kenneth Robinson, Carolyn & Jerry McMurry all of Knoxville, and Donna Hyatt of Grayson, Ga. several nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Monday with the service to follow at 7 pm. Rev. Bruce Robinson and Rev. Troy Cody officiating.
