  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 6 Aug 2000. LILLARD, DOROTHY - of Newport passed away Saturday at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County following a lengthy illness. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newport. She was a telephone operator with South Central Bell Telephone Co. of Knoxville for 40 years before her retirement in 1981. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erastus Hal and Elizabeth McNabb Lillard. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Earl (Evelyn) Rhodes of Newport; brother, Mulford Lillard and his wife, Dean of Newport; nieces, Janice Lillard Atkins of Morristown, Janet Porter and her husband, Kenneth of Newport; nephew E. Edward Rhodes, Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann of Dandridge and special friend, Rose Altom of Knoxville. Graveside service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery with Rev. Jim Lindsay officiating.
