GIBSON, THELMA MARIE FINLEY departed this life July 28, 2006 at NHC Fort Sanders after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born May 7, 1925 in Monroe, Michigan to the late John Earl Finley and Allie Mae Bolinger Finley. The family moved to Seymour, TN in the Dupont Community when she was five years old. She was a member of Dupont Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers Johnny Finley (infant) and Earl Houston Finley, sisters Ruth Finley Groves and Betty Finley Dykes. Husbands Thurma B. (Jack) Monday and Paul A. Tarwater (father of her children). Family members left to mourn her passing, husband Carl B. Gibson; sisters Anna B. Finley Davis and husband Willard (June) Davis, Elizabeth (Libby) Britt and husband Joe E. Britt; daughters Vivian M. Chance and husband Bill B. Chance and Sharon Farr McCoig; granddaughters Rebecca N. Chance and Mysta Farr Johnson and husband Rusty Johnson; great grandchildren Emily M. Johnson, Blake Russell Johnsom The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of NHC and the staff of Caris Hospice. Flowers would be welcomed donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Visitation will be Monday July 31, 2006 at Highland South from 6-7 p.m. followed by the funeral at 7 p.m. in the chapel, Rev. Jane B. Wade officiating.
