John was preceded into heaven by his father, John S. Turnmire; brothers-in-law, William C. "Bill" Miller, John E. Snow; several aunts and uncles. Those left behind to honor his memory include wife, M. Lorene Miller Turnmire; son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Alicia Turnmire; son, Jake Turnmire, all of Maryville; mother, Roena Turnmire, Maryville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cathy Jo and Jm Huskey, Walland, Becky and Bob Sanders, Louisville; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Judy Turnmire, Maryville; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy Snow, Ewing, Va., Louise "his guardian angel" and Bob Blankenship, Friendsville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Marvin and Jo Ann Goddard, Hollywood, Fla. A celebration of John's Christian faith will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Longhollow Rd., Maryville, Rev. Glann Riddle, Rev. Jack Hitch officiating.
