Tritt benefit set for Saturday

NEWPORT–There will be a benefit Saturday, July 25, at the National Guard Armory.
Proceeds will benefit Ann Tritt, who has cancer. She was diagnosed with colon cancer and was believed to be cancer free, but after returning to work for only a short time, she learned she now has cancer in both lungs, according to a friend and benefit organizer.
Her friend estimates she has battled cancer for about two years. Proceeds will go toward medical expenses and traveling to and from medical appointments.
Ann has one son, Andy Tritt. She is the daughter of A.L. and Bogle Hazelwood.
The benefit will include an auction at 7 p.m. followed by professional wrestling at 8 p.m. Admission for the wrestling is $6 per person with children 5 and younger admitted free.
A variety of food, including hot dogs and pizza, will be available for purchase.
Any and all donations will be appreciated. If anyone wants to donate items for the auction, someone will pick them up.

Ann Hazelwood Tritt, age 64, of Newport passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents; A.L. and Bogle Hazelwood; grandparents, Medford and Mary Travis, Andy and Ethel Hazelwood; brother, Albert Hazelwood; and uncle, Dave Travis. She is survived by her son, Andy (Holly) Tritt; brother, Jeff Hazelwood; sister, Kay (Terry) Dover; aunts and uncles, Jim and Jewelene Travis and Billie Ruth Travis; nieces, Lori and Scott Deering, and Sydney Hazelwood; nephews, Alan and Samantha Dover; Travis and Sarah Hazelwood; great nephews, Kevin and Alex Deering, Kellen Dover; special cousins, Barbara Jean Chrisman, Jewell Ottinger, Gary and Linda Webb, and Morris, Teresa Hazelwood, Karen Travis, Chris Travis and Carolyn Francis; and life long best friend, David Tritt. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Sunday, January 11, 2014 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Colonel Eddie Young, Rev. Tom Shelton and Rev. Jeff Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Sunday prior to funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Manes Funeral Home to help with funeral expense. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com.
