Keith Blazer write-in candidate for Road Commissioner District 1
HARTFORD— Keith Blazer is a lifelong resident of Cocke County and lives in Hartford with his wife, Jennifer and daughter, Erin.
He is the son of Franklin and Ruby Blazer of Carson Springs. His grandparents are the late Hobart and Ruby Blazer of Carson Springs and the late Burl and Dora McGaha of Hartford. Blazer is a 1990 graduate of Cocke County High School. He also attended Carson Newman College where he received a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Science.
Blazer is employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation where he is a Roadside Environmental Transportation Supervisor II. Previous work experience includes, Sonoco, Cocke County School System and Cocke Farmers Co-op.
In his seven years with the NCDOT, Keith has been involved with Interstate, Primary and Secondary road construction. He is also responsible for Roadside Beautification projects, Right of Way mowing and clearing, Invasive weed control, stream bank restoration and erosion control. "I am seeking this position because District 1 needs a voice. I am prepared and qualified to be that voice. I cannot promise we will get everything we want or need but I can promise our issues and concerns will be brought to the table. I am not employed by the city or county so there will be no conflict of interest. I will voice the needs of District 1! There are many questions to pursue, especially one. Are the residents of District 1 getting their fair share? Are we getting our fair share of funds? Are we getting our fair share of road maintenance, our fair share of bridge repair, right of way clearing and mowing? Is as much time being spent in our district as the other districts? Are our roads in need of signs, new painted lines, guardrails, culverts, patching or resurfacing? There are just a few questions I have. I am sure you have many more. Are they being answered? Are they even being asked?
I have been involved with many aspects of road construction and maintenance. I also know there are Federal and State funds available for County Projects.
I cannot promise an overnight miracle for District 1 but I can promise if elected to this position, District 1 concerns will be heard. Let me be your voice, your loud and clear voice! I am asking for your support." Write-in Keith Blazer District-1 Road Commissioner.
