(June 1, 1946 - April 15, 2015) Peggy Ann Williams Cody, age 68, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at U T Medical Center. She attended Southside Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years. Peggy is a beloved, cherished, honored wife, mother, grandmother and a respected Christian Lady who always had a warm loving heart and smile for all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Ima Kate Williams; brothers, Larry Williams and Donald Williams. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Larry Cody; sons, Craig Cody and Chip Cody; grandsons, Patrick Cody and Tyler Cody; sisters-in-law, Kim Williams and JoAnn Williams; uncles, Dean (Carolyn) Williams, Roy Proffitt and Denzil Proffitt; aunts, Marjorie Templin Webb, and Wilma Proffitt all of Newport; several nieces, nephews, all her bank family, church family, and a host of friends. The family will receive friends 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday, April 17, 2015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with funeral services following at 8:00 pm, with Dr. Charlie Boggan and Dennis Balch officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that in Memory of Peggy you send donations to Southside Baptist Church.
