Kirby, Roy T., age 78, of Knoxville passed away Friday evening, September 10, 2010 in Shelbyville. Roy was a member and Deacon of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. He retired from Robertshaw Controls. Roy was a veteran of the U S Army. He was active in the Civil Air Patrol. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Belle Terry Kirby; parents, Alden and Dora Sellers Kirby; brother, Melven Kirby; brother-in-law, Robert Terry Jr; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. Robert and Hazel Terry. Roy is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jewel and Terry Glascoe of Normandy; granddaughter, Lisa Gayle York; great grandsons, Josh and Jake Adcock; granddaughter, Lauren Hopie Hopie Glascoe; grandson, Jason Glascoe; sisters, Barbara McFall and husband, Bart of Atlanta, GA, Helen Rhoads and husband, John of Kingston, Linda Beeler and husband, Ed of Maryville; brothers, Beecher Kirby and wife, Dorothy of Stockbridge, GA, J E Kirby and wife, Dottie of Locus Grove, GA, Ronnie Kirby and wife, Sharon of Dallas, GA; sisters-in-law, Brenda Kirby of Locus Grove, GA and Claudette Terry of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:45 p.m. on Monday followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Deacon Horace Hamilton and Rev. Tommy Chadwick officiating. Family and friends will gather at 12 Noon on Tuesday at Highland Memorial Cemetery West for graveside services with full military honors conferred by the Volunteer State Veteran’s Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel 11915 Kingston Pike is serving the Kirby family.
