VAUGHN, DENNIS R. (DENNIE RAY) - age 61 of Conyers Georgia, formerly of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, January 22 at Rockdale Medical Center. He served honorably in the US Army from 1966-1970 of which 18 months were in Okinawa, Japan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonne Greene Vaughn and Guy Vaughn; grandparents, Walter and Lillie Carpenter and Robert D. and Mattie Greene. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Marian Vaughn; sons, Michael Vaughn and Douglas Vaughn; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Chris Downing, grandsons. Zachary and Logan Downing; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Roger Wilson of Conyers GA; sister, Kathy Haun of Friendsville, TN; special aunt, Laura Jane Ferguson of Knoxville; special uncle, Doc Greene and aunt Ada Greene. Dennis was loved by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. Dennis will be remembered with love by all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted at 8PM Tuesday from the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with Mr. Alden Vaughn officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:15 PM Wednesday to go in procession to Bethesda Cemetery for a 2 PM committal service. Military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 5266. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Stubblefield Funeral Home. Stubblefield Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
