LANGSTON, DONALD - age 72 of Strawberry Plains, TN, hiked to heaven with the angels on July 1st, 2010. He was a member of Pleasant Grove (Piney) Baptist Church. He was a photographer in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He retired from Magnavox in 1993 after 34 years of service. He is preceded n death by his father, Lowery Langston; his mother, Arietta Harkleroad; and his step-father, Jim Harkleroad. His is survived by his step-mother, Dorothy Langston; his sisters, Annette Minnick and Lorene Ogle; step-sisters, Janice O'Neil and Phyllis Bushman; and brother, Danny Langston. Also, special niece and best friend, Cindy Pugh; niece Teresa West; nephew, Duane Norris; and others. Don served God his entire blessed life. He was very active in national and international missions. He took mission trips to Venezuela for 24 years to the camp that was his pride and joy, Camp Carabobo. He did volunteer work for 23 years in Wears Valley at his beloved Camp Ba-Yo-Ca. Don also had 50 years of service with the Royal Ambassadors. Don was proud to have traveled the world and photograph his precious memories. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to camp Carabobo c/o Belmont Heights Baptist Church 2510 Belmont Heights Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921. Funeral service 3 pm Sunday, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Lee and John Pinkston officiating. Interment to follow in church cemetery with Rev. Jerry DeZearn officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 pm at the church. Arrangements by Fielden Funeral Home New Market.
