Charles Alexander Dockery, age 83, of Madisonville, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Sweetwater Hospital. He was a resident of East Tennessee Healthcare Facility. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Hearon Dockery; sons, Charles Hughes, Ronnie Darrell Dockery; parents, Alex and Bessie Lambert Dockery; step-daughter, Darlene Hearon; sisters, Martha Faye Willocks, Anna May Dockery, Dorothy Jayne, Helen Teffeteller, and Dianne Campbell; several half-brothers and sisters. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Janey Dockery, and Clarence and Donna Dockery; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bill Webb, Nina and Austin Potter, Ruth and Charles Ward, and Linda Kay Dockery all of Blount County; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Dockery, and Mable Roy; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Jean Dockery; special grand-daughters and caregivers, Tammy and Rick Plemons of Madisonville, Jennifer Dockery, and Patricia Cooper; special brothers-in-law, Charlie Jayne of Georgia, and Bill Amos of Alcoa; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Staff of East Tennessee Healthcare Center Facility, Sweetwater Hospital, Dr. Gettinger, Dr. Beverly, and Janet Hunt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Miller Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held 2:00PM Friday, March 21, 2008 at Liberty Baptist Cemetery, Rev. Mike McClure officiating.
