Carl Ellison is announcing his candidacy for Road Commissioner of the 2nd District of Cocke County.
Ellison is the son of Eulla Mae "Cookie" Ellison of Newport, and the late Everette Ellison Sr. who was a well know exterminator in the county, best remembered as "Bugman".
Ellison is married to Patricia Ellison, she is the daughter of Arnold and Eva Gregg of Parrottsville, and they have one daughter, Brooke, who attends Parrottsville Elementary School. Ellison is employed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation as a Roadway and Bridge Inspector, where he has worked for over 11 years. He is a certified Hot-mix Asphalt Inspector, Certified ACI concrete Field Testing Technician along with courses in contract plans reading, structures inspection, use of Nuclear Gauge Testing Equipment, and Erosion Control course. One of his latest projects was the two bridge replacements on U.S. State Route 35 Hwy. 321 which is known as the Salem Curve, that included the new construction of part of S.R. 35 which took some of the curve out of that road. I feel that with my experience with the Department of transportation, I would be well qualified in representing the 2nd district, and would like to put those qualifications to work for the citizens of the 2nd district, and would like to put those qualifications to work for the citizens of the 2nd district, which include Parrottsville, Bridgeport, Long Creek and Huston Valley. Within the next few weeks I will be out trying to see as many of the citizens as I possibly can, but it will be impossible to reach each and every one, So I wold like to take this opportunity now to ask the citizens of the 2nd district for their vote of confidence in the up coming general election.
