She was a descendant of Cades Cove pioneer families, Russell Gregory, Susan Hill Gregory, John "Baldy" Myers, Mary Ann Tipton Myers, John Oliver, Lurany Frazier Oliver, Martin "Daddy Mart" Tipton, Margaret Handley Tipton, Sam "Smoke" Burchfield, & Mary Ann Shuler Burchfield.
