CMSGT William Arley "Bill" Burchfield, age 67, of Maryville, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the family home. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force with 27 years of service, retiring with a rank of Chief Master Sergeant. His decorations and medals include: Air Medal, Air Force Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor with Four Devices, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon (Third Device), Army Good Conduct Medal (Second Device), Air Force Longevity Service Ribbon (Five Devices), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (Fourth Device), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with Nine Oak Leaf Clusters, and Meritorious Service Medal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Sue Teffeteller Burchfield; daughter, Kathy Burchfield; parents, Corbett and Kate Myers Burchfield; and brother, Ronnie Burchfield. He is survived by his daughters, Dee Dee Burchfield of Maryville and Rebecca Aschenbrener of New York; grandchildren, Randy Dees of Georgia, Sommer George of Maryville, and Jerry, Justin, and Joshua Scott all of Texas; great-grandchildren, Raven, Blake, Hallie, Christian, Brooklyn, and Keliegh; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Ed Crowe of Maryville; special friends, Joe and Lorene Bowers, Romaine Yates, and Sue and Will Huey; and many other special friends. Funeral service to be held at 7:30 PM Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Harry Sherrer officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 AM Monday at Forest Hill Cemetery for the interment service with full military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 7:30 PM Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (www.millerfuneralhome.org)
