KOONTZ, JOSIE LEE FORTENBERRY - 83, OF Kodak went home to be with her Lord and loved ones at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2001. Josie began her journey at Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge. Mrs. Koontz was a lifetime member of Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Mell G. Koontz; parents, Tom and Alice Bales Fortenberry; brother, Sam Fortenberry; sisters, Zelma Loveday and Edna Shepherd. She is survived by her daughter, Janice K. McCroskey of Knoxville; sons, Kenneth Koontz of Townsend, Gary Koontz of Dandridge; 11 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Mildred Stiles; sister in law, Pauline Fortenberry all of Kodak; several nieces nephews, and a host to loving friends will miss Josie 's loving personality. Service will be 8 p.m. Friday December 7 at Beech Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Kim McCroskey and Rev. Wayne Stinnett officiating. Interment will be Saturday, 11 a.m. December 8 at Pollards Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. at Beech Springs Baptist Church. A very special thanks to the entire staff at Jefferson County Nursing Home in Dandridge and especially to the staff of Nursing Staff #4, the Magnolia Wing. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made tot the Jefferson County Nursing Home Activities Fund, 914 Industrial Park Rd, Dandridge, Tenn. 37725.
