McPHERSON, WANDA "JERRY" - 81, of Seymour passed away Thursday, January 15, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Jerry was born December 6, 1922 to the late John and Hettie (Hatcher) McPherson. She was a graduate of Harrison Chilhowee Baptist Academy. After graduating from high school she worked in the medical laboratory of Blount Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the American Medical Technologist Association as well as a member of the First Baptist Church of Seymour. Leaving behind to mourn her loss is her special friend, Lorene Hawkins cousins, Barbara Pinkston, John and Andrew Pinkston, Beverly Norton, Rachel Harbin, Sarah Bunch all of Morristown, Sharon Byers of Minneapolis, MN, Stephen and Michael Byers of Huntsville, AL. Besides the immediate family, Bobbie Loggins and other friends of the medical technology profession will miss Jerry. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2004 at Rawlings Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Pinkston and Rev. Bruce Yates officiating. Interment will follow the service at Chilhowee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday, January 16 and from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 17 at Rawlings Funeral Home. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Alan Smuckler and Dr. Helen Bidawid for the loving care that they provided for Jerry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37909 in Jerry McPherson's memory. Condolences may be conveyed to the family through our website.
