(April 29, 1950 - April 16, 2006) Mike Price, age 55, of Newport, passed away, Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Newport Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he earned the Purple Heart on February 27, 1969 He was preceded in death by his parents, Amon and Polly Price; brother, Kenneth Price; sister, Edith Holt; brother-in-law, George Rollins. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Destie and Cauley Rollins; sister, Ima Jean Rollins; brothers and sisters-in-law, McCord and Charlotte Price, W.S. and Eleanor Price; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family, staff and residents of Newport Health & Rehabilitation Center. The family would like to say a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ron Ball and Pastor Willie Winter officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 19, 2006 in Union Cemetery with the Tennessee National Guard conducting military honors. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
