JOHNSON, JESSIE MILDRED - 88, of Kodak TN, passed away Saturday August 22, 2009 at summit View Nursing Home in Farragut. She was a dedicated member of New Salem Baptist church of Kodak. She was preceded in death by parents, Flem and Bertha Cantrell; husband, Henry (Buck) Johnson; son, Johnny Johnson; grandson, Kevin Farmer and granddaughter, Teresa Cate; son-in-law, A.B. Cate. Several brothers and 1 sister also preceded her in death. Surviving: daughters, Polly Cate of Kodak, Faye and Robert Farmer of Knoxville; sons, Ronnie and Sharon Johnson of Knoxville, Allen and Elonia Johnson of Augusta, GA; sister, Mary Potter; brother-in-law, Roy Johnson and several nieces and nephews. She was a foster mother to 69 children in her lifetime. Also 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday August 23, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home. Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev Bill LaRoy officiating.
