He was of the Baptist Faith and retired from the Knox County School System. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors and was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much. Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Heatherly; sister, Margaret Cox; brothers, Elmer, Ralph and John Heatherly. Survived by daughters, Marcia O'Neal and husband Cranston, Nancy Curnutt and husband Wesley of Knoxville, Eugenia Siler and husband Gary of Augusta, Georgia; grandchildren, Lori Klieber, Dustin and Christopher Siler and Alexandria Spaulding; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Woodlawn Cemetery at 10:45 A.M. Thursday for an 11:00 A.M. Graveside service with Rev. Tom King officiating.
