MONGER, REV. CORBIN O. (COBB) - age 72, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2002 at 3:55 a.m. Born August 22, 1929 in Anderson County. Pastor of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Knoxville. He had pastored several churches in Sevier, Knox, and Anderson Counties. He was saved October 16, 1955 and was ordained February 28, 1958. Preceded in death by parents, Will Monger and Annie Sherwood Monger; seven brothers and two sisters. Survived by wife of 54 years, June Beatrice Claxton Monger; daughter, Mary Ann Watson and husband, Wayne; son, Allen Monger; brothers, Clyde of Sevierville, Tommy of Spencer, Tenn., Ted of Detroit, Mich., Guy of Loudon, Tenn., Gunther Koppenhoffer of Mich.; sisters, Ruth Hall and husband, Jewell of Kingston, Lillie and Willie of Loudon; 1 granddaughter, Angie Fersner and husband, Mark; 4 grandsons, Justin Roop, Scott, Todd, and Kris Monger; 2 great granddaughters, Chantel and Dakota Monger; 2 step grandchildren; and 5 step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Family will receive friends Saturday February 9, at Highland South Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. with funeral services following at 8 p.m. with Rev. Mike Parsley and Rev. Al Smith officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Sunday, February 10 at 11 a.m. in Highland South Cemetery. Highland South Funeral Home has arrangements. 573-7300.
