Larry Gerald Wells, 64, of Kodak, passed away at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in Knoxville, TN.
Larry was born on July 25, 1953 in Knoxville, TN to his parents, Cletis and Mozelle Wells. He graduated from Doyle High School in 1971. He married Angie Burkhardt in 1979. The Wells’ then moved to Kodak, where they built their home and raised their children.
Larry was a loving and caring son, husband, father, Grandy, and brother with a big heart and a great sense of humor. His wife, children, and grandchildren were the loves of his life. Larry was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville.
Larry had a productive and dedicated career at First American Bank, Weisgarber Medical Lab, and most recently, Tennessee State Bank. He always enjoyed his work and made many friends along the way.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cletis Wells.
Larry is survived by his wife, Angie Burkhardt Wells; his children, Craig Wells, Brent Wells and wife Angela, and Tracy Wells Cate and husband Brandon; his grandchildren, Kingston and Weston Wells, and Jeremiah Cate; his mother, Mozelle Wells; his sisters, Sandra (Jerry) Campbell, Joyce (Tony) Joseph; brother-in-laws Jimmy (Gayle) Burkhardt and Doug (Peggy) Burkhardt and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 4-6:45 PM Friday with funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Brewer officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11 AM Saturday at Asbury Cemetery for interment. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com.
