Harlan Wegman, 78, formerly of Maumee, OH, upon retirement he lived his dream in the Sunshine State of Florida for the past 17 years, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 26, 1929, in Pemberville, OH to Clarence and Olga (Allwordt) Wegman. Harlan served his country as a Korean War Army veteran. He was employed with Norwalk Trucking and retired in July 1989 from working in Test Stands, testing transmissions for Powertrain. Harlan was a member of the American Legion in Florida. He was very passionate about his yard work and spent many hours tending to the yard. Harlan loved cars and was a NASCAR fan, he owned every car General Motors produced. A loving and caring man, Harlan's greatest love was his family especially his grandchildren. Harlan is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna (Bennett) Wegman whom he married November 11, 1950, in Oak Harbor, OH; daughter, Connie (Dan) Lawrence of Maumee, OH; son, Marty (Jackie) Wegman of Maumee, OH; grandchildren, Kristy (Travis) Ogden, Nick (Kristi) Davis, Nate (Heather) Davis and Jason (Danielle) Wegman; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Kayla, Ivie, Haley and Cooper; sisters, Ellen (Mike) Piraino and Carolyn Latham; brothers, Willard (Joan), Daniel and Jim Wegman; step-grandchildren, Pier, Laurie, Jack, Danny, Jane and Julie. In addition to his parents, Harlan was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Joe Latham. Family and friends may visit Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. in the Maison - Dardenne - Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
