Joseph "Joe" Drew Stalcup, 55, of Gatlinburg, TN, died on Friday, April 22nd at his home following a brief illness.
Stalcup was a retired retailer from the Rebel Corner Stores in Gatlinburg. His father, Samuel
Stalcup Sr., was instrumental in promoting Gatlinburg as a tourist destination in the 1950s. At one time the Stalcup Family owned three Rebel Corner stores, the Space Needle and several hotels.
Mr. Stalcup is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ella Sharp Stalcup. He is survived by three daughters, Brittany Wood and Erin Stalcup of Little Rock, AR, and Leah Stalcup of Pigeon Forge, TN; grandchildren, Audrey Seeds and Henry Wood; two brothers, Sam Stalcup of Knoxville, TN, and Bobby Stalcup of Pigeon Forge, TN; and sister, Cindy Stalcup of Pigeon Forge.
Memorials may be made to the Sevier County Food Ministries, 890 Old Knoxville Hwy, Sevierville, TN 37862.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Thursday with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home. Dr. David Ayers will be officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.atchleyfuneralhome.com
