Monday night, September 22, 2014, Grace Melinda Ford James, fell asleep in the arms of her loving family and awoke in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church for 67 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus and Rachel Ford; sisters, Dorothy Ford Runyan, Edith Ford Fox and Shirley Ford; and brothers, Sylvester and Lloyd Ford. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Oscar James; her daughters, Lisa James Hazelwood and husband Jeff; and Sheila James Huskey and husband Chris; four grandchildren, Travis Hazelwood and wife Sarah; Sydney Hazelwood ; John Huskey and Kaitlyn Grace Huskey; sisters, Edna Ford Crum; Martha Ford Sutton; Judy Ford Holt and husband Tom; brothers, Bob Ford and wife Carolyn; Jerry Ford and wife Rita; Bill Ford and wife Brenda; sisters-in-law, Ruby James; Emma Dean James; Kathleen James and Joyce James Cox; brother-in-law, Samuel Mose Freshour; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Also her special caregivers, Shawnee Driskill and Missy Bullington. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, September 25, 2014 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Suggs and Rev. Jackie Swanger officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 26, 2014 in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
