Elmer E. Cunningham, age 84, of Sevierville, entered his eternal home on Tuesday, April 14, 2009. Elmer was retired from Electric Service Company. He was a faithful member and deacon of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. Elmer was a 32nd Degree Mason-IBEW. Elmer was a loving husband and father. Elmer will be greatly missed by his daughter and friends. “Daddy you were the Bestest, I will love you forever and will see you again when God calls me home”
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Cunningham, parents, Thomas and Edna Cunningham, sisters, Mildred Loveday, Ethel Trundle, brothers, Carlos and Wade Cunningham.
Elmer is survived by his devoted daughter, Donna Cunningham; his adopted daughters, Sandra Millsaps and Debbie Ketchen; special friend, Lou Hensley and “his little princess”, Tess; sisters; Lona King, Ruby McCarter, and Troy Cunningham; many nieces and nephews.
Donna would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Mary’s Residential Hospice and Laura and Estelle for the compassionate care given to Daddy.
Funeral service 7 PM Friday in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel with Chaplain Dan Hicks officiating. Interment 11 AM Saturday in Atchley’s Seymour Memory Gardens with Chaplain Phil Gross officiating.
