He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church since December 9, 1956; He worked with the Boy Scouts for many years, loved gardening and helping other people. Preceded in death by wife Martha Clifton; stepsons Kenneth Ray King and H.C. King; parents Harve and Estell Clifton; brother Virgil Clifton and Arthur Clifton. Survivors include sons Arthur and wife Regenia Clifton, Jackie and wife Paulette Clifton, R.V. Clifton, David Brown and wife Gwen; stepsons Stanley King and Curtis King; brother Earl Clifton; four grandchildren; nine step grandchildren. Family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Pollard Cemetery.
