Waltsie Ethel Tarbett , age 99, of Maryville, born July 19, 1904 died Sunday, July 18, 2004 at Asbury Place of Maryville. Mrs. Tarbett moved from Union County in 1935, and was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Shirley Franklin "S.F." Tarbett ; her parents, Cornie and Eli Kivette; nine siblings; a son, Gene Porter Tarbett ; a daughter, Mae Ruth Dixon; grandsons, Roger Dale Arwood, Franklin Dale Tarbett , and Ronny Joe Tarbett ; and sons-in-law, Charles Rowland and Daniel Murphy; She was a loving mother and homemaker, a devout Christian and member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. Her hobbies were her flower gardens, crafts, and painting. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Betty and Rev. David Arwood Jr., and daughter, Eutella Rowland Murphy; daughter-in-law, Melba Tarbett ; grandsons and wives, Marvin and Karen Dixon, Kenny and Kristy Dixon, Jim and Cheryl Blatt, Glen and Anita Tarbett , Doug Tarbett , Ron Tarbett , Gary and Dinah Rowland; granddaughters and husbands, Dreva and Kenneth McKee, Ilene Harlan, Lisa Tarbett , Wanda McMillan, Angelia and Dave Gaines, Barbara and David Nave, and Sheila Schlosshan; 29 great- grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; special friend, Betty Billeter; a host of friends and loved ones, and her church family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at 8:00 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Earl Taylor and Rev. Keith Johnson officiating. Family and friends will assemble on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 9 a.m. in Sherwood Memorial Gardens for Interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Madison Avenue Baptist Church @ 1918 Madison Ave., Maryville, TN. 37804, or the Church of your choice.
