HAMMER, OLLIE "MARGARET" - age 81 and a lifelong resident of The Boyds Creek Community in Sevierville, died Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at Sevier County Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Ollie and Mack Hammer. She taught 42 years in The Sevier County School System and many of those years were at Sevier County High School as The Women's Basketball Coach and Physical Education Teacher. She was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary-Treasurer for many years. Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, McKindry and Sam Hammer of Sevierville. Survivors: sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Joe Lyle; sister, Mildred Hicks; sister-in-law, Anna Frank Hammer; 5 nephews and 2 nieces. Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday in The West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. W.A. Galyon and Rev. Les Shear officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Friday in Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
