Launa Holt Pace passed away July 12, at Mariner Nursing Home in Newport. She was born July 12, 1913, and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Newport. Launa was the daughter of the late Bruce and Gladys Holt of Newport. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Pace; grandson, James Andrew Pace; sisters, Mary Lois Holt and Esther Hooper; and brother, Leon A. Holt. Launa is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Peggy Pace and Jim and Lucy Pace of Newport; grandchildren, Wendee and Joe Owensby, Le Ann and Rickey Holt of Newport, and Crystle Pace of Sevierville; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Erin and Elisha Tracy of Newport. She is also survived by brothers, Russell L. Holt and wife, Anna Bell Holt of Maryville, and Elmer E. Holt and wife, Myrtle Holt of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and sisters-in-law, Georgia Pace, Mary Bell Fowler, Phyllis Pace and Gona Holt of Newport. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Lemuel “Tige” Hooper of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be given to the First Baptist Church of Newport, Tennessee, or the Alzheimer’s Association - Eastern Tennessee Chapter, 600 Henley Street, Suite 50, Knoxville, Tennessee 37902. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Manes Funeral Home.
