Barbara Elizabeth Tansil Quinn September 22, 1918 - March 24, 2009 Birthplace: Sharon, Tennessee Resided In: Sevierville, Tennessee Service: March 26, 2009 Cemetery: Tansil Cemetery Barbara Elizabeth Tansil Quinn, age 90, of Sevierville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Barbara was born in Sharon, Tennessee and lived in Chicago for 37 years, but her heart always belonged in Tennessee. She was a member of the Chicago Speakers Bureau and had a Sunday evening radio program telling Bible stories to children. She also was a banker and an officer of the Northern Trust Company. After her husband’s death, she moved to Knoxville in 1968. She was an officer of Hamilton National Bank and managed the credit department of the United American Bank. She served as the first woman on the Board of Credit Bureau of Knoxville. She was chairperson of the Administration Board at the time of her retirement from First Tennessee Bank of Knoxville. Barbara was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Sevierville and a member of the Covenant class and the Emily Thomas Circle. She was preceded in death by husband Frank W. Quinn, sister Lucile Drewry, brothers L. Wayne Tansil and Lewis A. Tansil, and brother-in-law and surrogate father, Dean Drewry. She is survived by her: Sons: Michael F. Quinn and wife Marion Apter Quinn, William M. Quinn and wife JoAnn Brooks Quinn Grandchildren: Taylor Brooks, Brian and Adrienne Quinn Nieces: Eleanor Tansil Alden, Julia Dean Tansil Nephews: Dean Drewry, L. Wayne Tansil, Jr., Allen Tansil In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Sevierville, 214 Cedar Street, Sevierville, TN 37862.
