Lesley Vern Thornton, age 65, of White Pine, died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
He was a former employee of Bush Construction Co. in Newport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Thornton; grandparents, Dock and Artie Mae Layman and Allen and Eva Thornton.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Harvey Thornton; son and daughter-in-law, Grant and Debbie Thornton, and daughter, Velina Thornton, all of White Pine; mother, Almeda Thornton, of Chestnut Hill; sisters, Janice McCoig and Eva Askew, and brother, Roger Thornton, all of Chestnut Hill; grandchildren, Cherish Crawford, Lakenzie Crawford, Millicent Thornton, and Mason Thornton, all of White Pine; several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2008, at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral service was 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jerry Colbert, the Rev. Ray Wiley, and the Rev. Manson Lee officiating.
Internment will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Proffitt Cemetery in Chestnut Hill.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
