RIGGS , CARL - age 87 of Maryville, died Saturday, October 9, 1999 at the family home. He was a member of the Madison Avenue Baptist Church, and a member of Masonic Lodge of Seymour. He was retired from Alcoa Aluminum Co. He is preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Riggs . Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Jerine Loy of Bisbee, AZ; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Jim Hatton of Rocklin, CA, Peggy and Bob Choate, Carolyn and Bruce Lane and Margie and Paul Mynatt, all of Maryville, Patsy and Tom Frank of Alexandria, KY, and Judy and Frank Gomez of Shaprsburg, GA; grandchildren, Rick and Randy Loy, Shawna Thornton, Mark and Brian Ernst, Marcia Dennis, Scott Choate, Melissa Justis, Christel Kirkpatrick, Angie Cisick and Eric Gutridge; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Riggs , sisters, Lovana Ivy and Mattie Harless; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Clifford Tilson, Paul Carr, Earl Taylor, Danny and Glenda Kimsey. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday, October 11, 1999, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Grubb officiating. The family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 12, 1999 at Eusebia Cemetery for the interment. Memorial donations may be made to the Madison Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 983-1000.
